Formulas

How the estimates work

Energy and battery gain

kWh added = charger kW × hours × charging efficiency

Battery % added = kWh added ÷ battery size × 100

Range and cost

Miles per kWh = 100 ÷ kWh per 100 miles

Miles added = kWh added × miles per kWh

Charging cost = kWh added × electricity cost per kWh

Target charge time

kWh needed = battery size × ((target % - current %) ÷ 100)

Hours needed = kWh needed ÷ (charger kW × charging efficiency)

Assumptions

Important charging disclaimer

Real charging speed varies by temperature, battery state of charge, vehicle limits, charger limits, usable battery constraints, and DC fast charging taper. This estimator is intended for planning, not as a guarantee of actual charging performance.
